Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration Competition

The Local Government Commission is excited to announce a competition that will begin on November 1st and last until December 9th. The winners will be announced on December 16th.

  • The first place winner will receive a FREE 3-day conference registration.
  • The second place winner will receive 50% off of a 3-day conference registration, or a FREE 1-day registration.
  • The third place winner will receive a complimentary tour registration for the tour of their choice.

We strongly believe that no single discipline can solve today’s biggest environmental and economic challenges.  Because we believe this, we have made it a primary goal to promote multidisciplinary, non-traditional partnerships at our conference. In support of this goal, we would like to hear about your experience with multidisciplinary collaboration through this competition.

To take part in the competition:

  • Use the survey link provided to access the short application: Survey
  • In addition to basic information, you will be asked to: Share an inspiring experience of successful multidisciplinary collaboration to promote smart growth in your community (300 word count limit).
  • Criteria: Your project must have at least three collaborators and it must address at least two of the principles of smart growth as described by the US EPA Office of Sustainable Communities. Your story must discuss the reach or outcome of your project.
  • Optional Criteria: We encourage you to discuss new or original partnerships that were developed and any equity component of your project. We hope your story is original, creative, and generally inspiring. We will encourage the winners to provide us with pictures or videos.
  • If you either “Like” us on Facebook of “Follow” us on Twitter, your name will be included twice in the final drawing for the three prizes - DOUBLING your chance of winning! (Note: You can only win one prize).
  • To be eligible to win, you must answer all the questions and provide all the requested information. The winners will be chosen randomly from the group of eligible applicants.
  • No prizes will be awarded through this competition unless at least 15 people enter, so spread the word!

  1. To enter the competition you must be 18 years old or over at the time of entry.
  2. No purchase necessary.
  3. Only one entry per person.
  4. The competition will open on November 1st and will close on December 9th.
  5. If you want to enter the competition, you must enter via the survey link provided on the www.newpartners.org website.
  6. In order to win, you must provide all the basic information. The winners will be chosen randomly. First place wins a free 3-day registration to the conference, second prize wins a half-priced 3-day registration (or a free 1-day registration), and third place wins a free registration for the tour of their choice.
  7. Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted.
  8. If you either “Like” us on Facebook of “Follow” us on Twitter, your name will be included twice in the final drawing for the three prizes - DOUBLING your chance of winning! (Note: You can only win one prize). You do not like to “Follow” us or “Like” us in order to win.
  9. All winners will be notified via email or phone.
  10. By entering the competition, you agree to allow your entry information to be posted on the conference website, promotional materials, as well as on Facebook and Twitter. We will not share your email address, physical address or phone number.
  11. No prizes will be awarded through this competition unless at least 15 people enter, so spread the word!
  12. All monetary sponsors are not eligible to participate in this competition.
