Smart Growth Network (SGN)

The Smart Growth Network (SGN) is a founding sponsor of the New Partners for Smart Growth Conference series, and the Local Government Commission has been a Partner Organization of the SGN since its inception.

SGN is a national network of more than 5,000 people and organizations working together to facilitate smart growth in neighborhoods across the United States.  Membership is completely free.  SGN was designed to encourage development that serves the economy, the community, and the environment, all at the same time.  SGN provides a forum for:

  • Raising public awareness of smart growth and the implications of development decisions
  • Promoting smart growth best practices through educational publications and other venues
  • Developing and sharing information, innovative policies, and tools
  • Fostering collaboration among SGN partners and members
  • Cultivating strategies to address barriers to smart growth

Any individual or organization interested in furthering the principles of smart growth can become a member of the Smart Growth Network. Member benefits include a quarterly e-newsletter and access to the network’s online discussion forums, which facilitates networking and peer assistance.

SGN membership is completely free!  Sign up today!
